January 30, 2015 (Webb City, MO) Cardinal Scale OEM Sales Manager Steve Cole has retired today, after an impressive 40-year career with the company. Steve began working for Cardinal Scale on April 1, 1974 and he helped guide the research and development of many new Cardinal products over the years, including the 201 indicator, 201ADMIX system, 190 indicator, AGBARs, load cell kits, and batching systems.
In Steve’s impressive 40-year career with Cardinal Scale, he has compiled some amazing statistics:
- 2,104 nights on the road
- 1.5 million miles traveled (that’s the equivalent of 60 times around the world)
- Visited 11 different countries
- Sold Cardinal products into all 48 contiguous states
Steve started out working in the Customer Service Dept. During that time period, customer service took scale sales orders and additionally took parts orders, provided tech support, and prepared extensive quotes on weighing systems. Steve started scheduling and travelling to trade shows where he met other manufacturers who needed to buy our products, and so Cardinal Scale’s OEM sales division was born where Steve was the sales manager for over 20 years.
As the OEM sales manager, Steve had to not only be an expert on Cardinal Scale products, but become an expert on electronic products used in all of the different industries that our components were utilized in from processing and manufacturing to agriculture and aggregates.
Steve has been asked to provide presentation at GEAPS for agricultural weighing, the scale man’s association, and waste management conventions for solid waste weighing. He has travelled for sales calls as far away as Hong Kong and Chile.
Buster Crutcher will replace Steve Cole as Cardinal OEM Sales Manager.
