Elliott Equipment Company changed the grip deck paint process on all applicable HiReach and BoomTruck products in 2016. The existing paint/rubber grip deck mix will no longer be offered, and all steel flatbeds will include the new grip material (optional on aluminum beds). This new military-grade material substantially improves long-term durability, reduces peeling, enhances color retention and also maintains its non-skid properties. It is designed to offer excellent chip, abrasion, impact, gouging, tearing and chemical resistance and provides improved protection against corrosion.

The new bed coating is made from an Aliphatic Polyurea which offers excellent UV protection as well as a long-life. It’s highly resistant to gasoline, oil, brake fluid and other materials that would typically stain deck materials. The coating is applied using a single-stage spray system to the cleaned bed surface and is air dried. It can be reapplied at most paint shops without requiring the removal of existing grip deck or obtaining materials from Elliott, making it very easy to patch the deck after performing repairs.

There will be no price adjustments for the new grip deck material, and distributors will begin seeing this material on steel flatbed-equipped models starting January 1st.
